Dr. Micah Kohles
Dr. Micah Kohles was raised in Holland, Nebraska and graduated from Norris High School. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997, followed by a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University in 2001. He is currently completing a Masters in Public Administration through the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He practiced at an 8-doctor, small animal/exotic practice in Denver prior to returning to Lincoln to take a position with NAMC and the Lincoln Children’s Zoo in 2003.
Dr. Kohles has a strong interest in surgery, exotic and zoo medicine, and geriatric medicine. Dr. Kohles also works at Oxbow Animal Health where he is Director of Technical Services, and the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, where he is a member of the Board of Directors. He lectures throughout the United States at veterinary schools and conferences. He is a member of multiple professional organizations including: AVMA, AAV, AEMV, AZA, AAZV, ARAV and Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
His family includes his beautiful wife, Ashley, and amazing son, Tegan. His extended family includes two dogs, Gunner, an obnoxious Jack-Russell Terrier, and Cali, a lazy yellow lab, as well as three quarter horses. In his spare time, Dr. Kohles enjoys spending time with his family and anything outdoors including, but not limited, to adventure racing, running, hunting, skiing, hiking and volleyball.
