Nebraska Animal Medical Center is excited to offer physical rehabilitation for our patients. Physical rehabilitation for pets is a rapidly growing part of veterinary medicine. This type of treatment helps animals to

  • Recover from orthopedic surgery
  • Fight obesity with weight control
  • Live more comfortably with osteoarthritis
  • Provide exercise for pets that have difficulty exercising on normal surfaces or who have difficulty walking distances

Because every pet patient has different needs, protocols are tailored to each individual.

Healthy Pet Conditioning

Nebraska Animal Medical Center’s rehabilitation facility is equipped with an underwater treadmill. This treadmill is the most widely used piece of equipment in the animal rehabilitation therapy field and the results have been outstanding.

Because hunting dogs are expected to perform after months of little or no conditioning, and without it they are very susceptible to injuries that can keep them out of the field for months or even years. Field trial and agility dogs also derive a great benefit from conditioning exercise.

Across the United States and around the world, dogs are using the underwater treadmills to gain an advantage on the competition. Prior to, and during the competitive season, dogs and their handlers can take advantage of our rehabilitation and conditioning center to attain their goals.
