We strive to provide the best quality of life possible for pets who may be suffering from a terminal condition or disease.
When a companion animal is diagnosed with a terminal or debilitating illness, hospice care may be chosen to provide the highest quality end-of-life care for the animal and the family until natural death occurs or euthanasia is chosen. At Nebraska Animal Medical and Emergency Center, we are proud to provide compassionate pet hospice care in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.
NAMEC doctor Carrie Frey, DVM, and Nanci Kyhn, LVT, recently attended The International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care’s second annual conference in Denver, CO. They were among leaders from around the world who spent three robust days listening to educational leaders in the area of pet hospice and palliative care best practices. Dr. Frey stated, “From the work that I’m already doing in the field with pet parents, I know that this is one more service for those pet parents who say to me “I want to know that I did everything I could for my pet.” Dr. Frey continued, “It’s such an honor to walk this final journey with pet parents and I want to make sure that I have all of the information that I need to be a resource to these loving pet owners.”
